Moheb A. Rashid, MD, PhD, is a Swedish senior consultant surgeon. Dr Rashid has 30 years of experience and practices mainly in Cardiothoracic surgery, including pediatric cardiac surgery and heart & lungs transplantations, vascular surgery and trauma surgery in the biggest university hospitals in Scandinavia including Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, Lund University Hospital, and Copenhagen University Hospital. Dr Rashid obtained his doctorate degree in Cardiothoracic trauma in a Scandinavian perspective from the Sahlgrenska Academy at Gothenburg University, Sweden. Dr Rashid has been acting as a guest reviewer for top several scientific surgical journals and a member of several international scientific societies over 2.5 decades of time. Dr Rashid, is the President of the World Society for Cardiothoracic Trauma (www.wsctt.com) and he is the Editor-in-Chief for The Journal of Cardiothoracic Trauma (www.jctt.org).
Dr Rashid pioneered surgical procedures in the heart, chest, vascular and trauma surgery. The complicated multi-injured and critically ill trauma patient particularly with heart, lung, or aortic injury is his main interest.
